Overview and Gameplay

You play as Desmond Miles, a modern-day bartender captured by the sinister Abstergo Industries.

Using a machine called the Animus, Desmond relives the genetic memories of his ancestor, Altaïr Ibn-La'Âhad, a Master Assassin during the Third Crusade in the Holy Land.

The game takes place in open-world recreations of three major cities: Jerusalem, Damascus, and Acre, along with the intervening countryside known as the Kingdom.

Core mechanics focus on social stealth, parkour-style free-running across rooftops, and blending into crowds to remain anonymous.

The game introduces a synchronization bar that acts as your health meter; taking damage or breaking the tenets of the Creed (such as killing innocents) reduces your synchronization.
